PPS Number: How to Apply (For Work)

Who this is for

Students who are starting work in Ireland and do not yet have a PPS number.

Step-by-step

1) Gather your documents

You will normally need:

• Proof of identity (passport)
• Proof of address in Ireland
• A reason for applying (for example, a job offer or a letter from your employer)

2) Apply online

Use the PPS application service on MyWelfare. Follow the steps and upload your documents.

3) Wait for checkation

Your application is reviewed and you may be asked for more information. Once approved, your PPS number is issued.
