CLIL — Content & Language Integrated Learning
Teach your subject through English with confidence. A practical, hands-on week of scaffolding, materials and lesson design for primary & secondary teachers.
Who is this course for?
For primary and secondary teachers and subject specialists who teach, or are preparing to teach, a curriculum subject through English (history, geography, science, maths and more), with little to moderate CLIL experience.

Methodology
A practical, participatory course — you learn CLIL by doing it. Each day moves from a short input session into hands-on planning, materials design and microteaching, with reflection and feedback built in.
You'll work in small international groups of education staff from across Europe, sharing approaches across subjects and systems. Trainers are experienced practitioners who model the techniques you'll use, and afternoons extend the learning through Dublin's cultural programme.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the week you will be able to:
- Clearly distinguish CLIL Type 1 and Type 2 and apply each appropriately
- Design and adapt lessons that integrate language and content
- Scaffold academic language for subject learning
- Support diverse learners through inclusive methods
- Apply assessment strategies for both approaches
- Deliver CLIL lessons with greater confidence and a clear plan
